Senator President with 18K nib (made in Germany)

Форма цієї моделі “сигара”, та дуже нагадує відомий Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Diplomat, але не 100 відсотково)). Матеріал чорна глянсова смола яка так само має червоний відблиск при яркому світлі на просвіт. Система заправки традиційно поршнева(piston filler), однак ручка поршня ховається під власним ковпачком. На корпусі є смугасте оглядове віконце для чорнил. Ковпачок на різьблені, закриття/відкриття за 2 з 1/4 обертів, різблення двох західне.

The shape of this pen is cigar type is very reminiscent of the famous Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Diplomat, but not exactly)). The material is black glossy resin, which also has a red when backlighted. The filling system is traditionally piston filler, but the piston lnob is hidden under its own blind cap. There is a striped ink window on the body. Cap on thread, 2 1/4 turn closing/opening, two start threads.

Перо: Золоте двоколірне перо, 18 каратів, розміру М, із відповідним тисненням 18ct, логотипом бренду стилізованим S, GERMANY, M. Перо звичайного 6 розміру, але виглядає трохи більшим, а порівняно з вінтажними перами просто величезне)).

The nib: 18K solid gold dual toned, size M, with imprint on surface 18ct, brand logo styled S, GERMANY, M. Nib is a usual 6 sized, but looks a little bigger, and compared to vintage nibs, just huge)).

Перо приємно м’яке, тобто воно не варіативне, а саме м’яке, можливо, навіть дуже м’яке. Воно має певну варіативність, але при регулярному використанні “крила” розходяться з часом, і їх потрібно буде знову вирівнювати. Крім того, вся система має доволі потужну подачу – тобто, розмір М сприймається скоріше як В, фідер ебонітовий.

The nib is pleasantly soft, that is, it is not flexible, but soft, perhaps even very soft. It has some variability, but with regular use, the tines diverge over time, and they will need to be aligned again. In addition, the feed system is wet – that is, size M is perceived more like B, the feed is ebonite.

На ковпачку є товсте жовте кільце з великими літерами назви моделі: Senator President та місцем для персоналізації.

On the cap there is a thick yellow ring with the model name by capital letters: Senator President and a place for personalization.

На кліпі також присутня штамповка логотипу. Чорнильне віконце, а точніше кілька таких віконець, являють собою своєрідні амбразури в тілі ручки.

The clip also has a logo stamp. The ink window, or rather several small windows, are a kind of embrasures in the body of the pen.

В цілому інструмент виглядає чималим, навіть можна сказати, що здалеку великим. Тобто перше слово, коли його бачиш, що з’являється в голові – “Ого”.

Вага ручки – 27 г, без ковпачка – 17 г. Загальна довжина – 149 мм, без ковпачка – 137 мм, діаметр корпусу – 14 мм, а грипу – 12 мм.

In general, this tool looks substantial, one might even say that it is oversized. That is, the first word that comes to mind when you see pen is “Wow.”

The overall weight of the pen is 27 g, without cap – 17 g. The total length is 149 mm, without cap – 137 mm, the diameter of the body is 14 mm, and at the grip is 12 mm.

Спочатку перо писало дуже насичено і рясно, тому дуже важко було робити будь-який штрих – все перетворювалося в одну лінію. Я трошки пошаманив з цим пером, і воно записало трохи краще.

At the start, the pen wrote very tick and wet, so it was very difficult to make any shades strokes – everything mixed into one fat filled place. I fiddled with this nib a bit and nib begin writing a bit better.

Товщина звичайної лінії: 0.4 мм, а зворотної – 0.35-0.4 мм. З більш насиченим потоком, порівняно з Pelikan, ручка пише на розмір більше, при цьому суттєво більший резервуар чорнил витрачається значно швидше, ніж у Pelikan. Ковзання дуже гладке, можна сказати, практично без зворотного зв’язку – як олія по олії.

The thickness of the usual line: by right side is 0.4 mm, and the reverse – 0.35-0.4 mm. By a more wet flow, compared to the Pelikan, the pen writes an one size larger, while the much larger volume of ink reservoir is emptied much faster than in the Pelikan. Gliding is very smooth, I can say, almost without feedback – like oil on oil.

В решті: читав в одному з оглядів в Інтернеті, що це економічний варіант (дешевий замінник, звісно, відносно) Montblanc 149:). Загалом, тримаючи одночасно 2 інструменти: Pelikan і Senator, відчувається різниця в класі: і в матеріалі, і в конструкції, але ручка зроблена доволі якісно:). Не знаю, чи випускається він в розмірах інших перьевих, але його М дуже вологий, скоріше В, а можливо навіть ВВ, тому точно не для любителів тонкого письма. Але в якості підписів, на столі він може працювати добре:).

At the end: I read in one of the reviews in Internet about this pen is an economical solution (a cheap version, of course, relatively) of Montblanc 149:). In general, holding 2 pens at the same time: Pelikan(Montblanc) and Senator, you can feel the difference in class of tool: both in the material and design, but this pen is made quite qualitatively :). I don’t know if it comes with other nib sizes, but this M is very wet, more like B, and maybe even BB, so it’s definitely not for fans of tin/normal EDC writing. But as a tool for signatures, on the table it can work well :).
