(modern) Montegrappa Privilege Deco Oversize

Приветствую всех! Этот год или даже лето у меня прям по-Montegrappa`овски или по-итальянски проходит и сегодня у меня еще одна “большая” во всех смыслах этого слова Montegrappa.

Welcome all! This year my summer “in Italian” style and today I have another “big” Montegrappa in every sense of the word.

Montegrappa Privilege Deco Oversize in Moonstone (Pearl) Grey Resin with Art Deco pattern (made in Italy) ISPLP3SJ

Данная модель на текущий момент является завершающей линейку Reminiscence поэтому в основе формы(серебряной накладки) лежит тот-же 8и-гранник, но окончание корпуса и кольцо колпачка имеют круглую форму. Материал в основе это смола серо-перламутрового цвета с элементами из стерлингового серебра. Серебряные грани украшены красивым гильошем под названием Art Deco. Система заправки – картриджно конвертерная, формата интернешенл(international). Колпачок на резьбе, закрытие/открытие за 3 оборота, резьба однозаходная.

This model is currently the last of the Reminiscence theme, so the shape (silver overlay) is based on the same octagonal shape, but the end of body and cap ring are rounded. The base material is a pearlescent gray resin with sterling silver parts. The silver edges are decorated by beautiful guilloche called Art Deco. Filling system is cartridge-converter by international format. Cap on thread with “long” closing/opening in 3 turns and single-start thread.

Конвертер, не смотря на формат international, для большей надежности обладает резьбой соединения с секцией. Задний колпачок (blind cap), как в некоторых версиях, не съемный и доступа к ручке поршня в данной версии нет. Клип выполнен в фирменном стиле с колесиком на конце.

The converter, in spite of the international format, has a thread to section for greater reliability. The body top (blind cap), as in some versions, is not removable and there is no access to the piston handle in this version. The clip have branded shape with a wheel at the end.

На всех металлических элементах стоят пробирные клейма серебра 925 в овале и клейма ювелирного дома Montegrappa ✩1140MI (что соответствует Richemont’овскому периоду 2001-2009). На корпусе и колпачке, вместе с клеймами еще выгравирована страна происхождения – Italy. На кольце секции и одной из граней колпачка нанесены имя бренда Montegrappa курсивным шрифтом, методом механической гравировки.

(где VI это Виченца (Vicenza), а MI это Милан (Milan) – месторасположение ювелирной гильдии изготавливающей элементы из серебра и золота применяемые в оформлении инструментов)

All metal elements have the Sterling Silver marks of 925 in oval and the hallmarks of the Montegrappa jewelry house ✩1140MI (which corresponds to the Richemont period 2001-2009). On body and cap, together with marks, the country of origin Italy is also engraved. The ring of the section and one of the edges of the cap are marked with the Montegrappa brand by cursive font, mechanically engraved.

Корпус, как и колпачок имеет плоские окончания.

The body, like the cap, has flat ends.

Перьевой узел представляет из себя пластиковый стакан, в котором расположены перо и эбонитовый фидер на трении. Перьевой узел с секцией соединяется посредством резьбы.

The nib mounted to plastic collar with ebonite (hard rubber) feed on friction. The nib unit is screw into the section.

Перо: аналогичное модели Montegrappa Reminiscence Oversize, хорошо знакомое нам, крупное перо 6 размера, производства Bock. Золотое, 18 каратное, двухцветное с приятной мягкостью – не флекс, но оно чувствительно мягкое. Перо покрыто родием за исключение “греческого узора” по периметру. Под воздушным отверстием в виде сердца, расположено название бренда Montegrappa, ITALY, размерность пера М, и чистота золота 750, в приплюснутом 6и угольнике и клеймо ювелирного дома Montegrappa ✩1140MI .

The nib: similar to the Montegrappa Reminiscence Oversize (or Miya, or Espressione), familiar to us, large and 6 sizes, made by Bock. Solid gold, 18K, two-tone with pleasant softness – not flex, but delicately soft. The nib is rhodium-plated except for the “Greek Key” pattern around the perimeter. Under the breather hole in the shape of a heart, there is the brand name Montegrappa, ITALY, the dimension of the nib is M, and the sample of gold is 750, in a flattened 6 square and the brand of the Montegrappa jewelry house ✩1140MI.

Общие размеры инструмента: длина в сложенном виде – 139.5мм, при снятом колпачке – 128.7мм, надетом колпачке на торец – 172мм. Диаметр корпуса по граням – 13мм, по ребрам – 14мм, в месте хвата – 10.7мм. Вес ручки без картриджа/конвертера – 43.3г, а без колпачка – 23.7г.

Overall dimensions of the tool: folded length – 139.5mm, without cap – 128.7mm and posted – 172mm. The diameter of the body along the faces is 13mm, along the edges – 14mm, in the grip – 10.7mm. The full weight of the pen without cartridge or converter is 43.3g, and without cap is 23.7g.

Вот краткая хронология развития бренда:
1912 г. – начало основания компании на берегу реки Брента. Первоначально компания носила название Элмо. Дизайн продуктов разрабатывала группа местных художников.
1930 г. – на рубеже 30х годов, в период очередного подъема итальянской культуры и моды, сначала появилась серия моделей Montegrappa с элементами изысканности, а затем это название было введено в состав бренда. Популярность торговой марки быстро растет как и мастерство художников разрабатывающих новые формы и расцветки.
1931 г. – умирает Алессандро Марзотто и его акции переходят к сыну Ренато Марзотто.
1933 г. – покупается дополнительная часть земли на которой строится новое(нынешнее) здание общей площадью 8000 м2.
1946 г. – сильный пожар на складе с целлулоидом наносит большой ущерб производству и документации фабрики. После этого инцидента компания отказывается от дальнейшего использования целлулоида в пользу пластика, серебра и золота.
1962 г. – умирает один из акционеров компании – Доменико Манеа и его акции переходят к сыновьям Чезаре и Этторе, которые продают их Ренато Марзотто в 1963 году. Теперь Ренато Марзотто становится единственным владельцем ELMO-MONTEGRAPPA.
1978 г. – компания была продана нескольким бизнесменам из Виченцы, которые изменили свое название на Montegrappa s.r.l.

Minutes of history:
Here’s a quick chronology of brand:
1912 – The company was founded on the banks of the Brenta River. The company was originally named Elmo. The products were designed by a group of local artists.
1930 – at the turn of the 30s, during the period of the next rise of Italian culture and fashion, first a series of Montegrappa models with elements of sophistication appeared, and then this name was introduced into the brand. The popularity of the brand is growing rapidly, as is the skill of artists developing new shapes and colors.
1931 – Alessandro Marzotto dies and his shares are transferred to his son Renato Marzotto.
1933 – an additional part of the land is purchased on which a new (current) building with a total area of 8000 m2 is being built.
1946 – A massive fire in a celluloid warehouse causes great damage to the production and documentation of the factory. After this incident, the company abandons the further use of celluloid in favor to plastic, silver and gold.
1962. – dies one of the company’s shareholders, Domenico Manea, and his shares are transferred to the sons of Cesare and Ettore, who sell them to Renato Marzotto in 1963. Renato Marzotto is now the sole owner of ELMO-MONTEGRAPPA.
1978 – The company was sold to several Vicenza businessmen who changed their name to Montegrappa s.r.l.
1985 – the Aquila family (Gianfranco Aquila), which was a historical client and customer in the person of Leopoldo Tullio Aquila, buys out the company
2001 – Montegrappa is acquired by the Richemont Group, one of the world’s largest luxury goods leaders, and from 2001-2005 operates under the Cartier brand before being taken over by Montblanc.
2009 – The Aquila family buys back the Montegrappa brand.

Что же касается самой модели Privilege Deco: на смену моделям Reminiscence показанным ранее, компанией была выпущена модель Eleganza, которая была также представлена в двух размерах (Oversize и Slim) как в гладком корпусе, так и с орнаментом «Греческий ключ». Самым существенным изменением был материал основы – смола перламутрово-зеленого цвета(Emerald Green Pearl). Так-же исчезла резьба с торца, которая была заменена окончанием из смолы и появилось кольцо из смолы в нижней части колпачка. Секция так-же была сделана из этого материала. В то время как в линейке Reminiscence модели отличались только диаметром, то начиная с Eleganza Oversize и Slim отличаются как по диаметру, так и по длине и только в 8и-гранном корпусе. После Eleganza появилась модель Privilege с еще менее значительными изменениями, а именно только с измененным цветом корпуса, где перламутрово-зеленая смола была заменена на сине-перламутровую(Sapphire Blue Pearl). Текущая модель, в отличии от предыдущих поменяла узор на Art Deco, а материал на серо-перламутровую смолу. Eleganza, Privilege и Privilege Deco в формате Oversize – это одни из самых больших современных ручек сравнимых по размеру с Montblanc 149.

As for the Privilege Deco model itself: to continue the Reminiscence line shown earlier, the company released the Eleganza model, which was also presented in two sizes (Oversize and Slim) both in a flat body and with “Greek key” pattern. The most significant change was the base material – pearlescent Emerald Green resin. The thread on end of body is disappeared and was replaced by resin end and resin ring appeared at the bottom of the cap. The section was also made from this material. While the Reminiscence line models differed only in diameter, starting with Eleganza line the Oversize and Slim models differ both by diameter and length, and produce only in octagonal shape. After the Eleganza, the Privilege model appeared with even less significant changes, namely, only changed body color, where the pearlescent Emerald Green resin was replaced by pearlescent Sapphire Blue resin. The current model, unlike the previous ones, changed the pattern to Art Deco, and the material to pearlescent Gray (Moonstone) resin. Eleganza, Privilege and Privilege Deco in Oversize format are some of the largest modern pens in the range of the Montblanc 149.

Данная ручка попала ко мне на профилактику пера, которое немного подцарапывало обеими сторонами. После обслуживания было протестировано.

This pen came to me for the nib service, because is scratched a little by both sides. After service has been tested.

Ширина ординарной линии из под пера прямой стороной составляет – 0.5мм, при этом нажим позволяет увеличить линию до 1.0мм. Обратная сторона пишет практически таким-же размером – 0.45мм. Линия сочная, влажная и насыщенная, я бы охарактеризовал как выше средней, при этом(уже) очень гладкая.

The width of ordinary line by right side is – 0.5mm, while the pressure allows you to increase the line up to 1.2mm. The reverse side writes in almost the same size – 0.45mm. The line is juicy, moist and saturated, I would describe it as overflow with very smooth(already) glide.

В итоге: по правде сказать я надеялся что эбонитовый фидер сделает поток ближе к нормальному относительно пластикового в Reminiscence, но подача практически не изменилась, она обильная и сочная. На тестовый эскиз и 3 тестовых листа А5 с текстом как в теме(с малым заполнением) был израсходован весь конвертер. Но зато такая подача порадует любителей влажного и гладкого письма:). Второй момент который может немного раздражать – это “длинная” резьба колпачка. В процессе тестового рисунка меня отвлекали раз 5-6, и честно говоря такая “долгая” резьба не для меня. В остальном это прекрасный инструмент, обладающий традиционной итальянской элегантностью и стилем, но для меня – очередное “статусное” перо для подписей и значимых резолюций:). Я не нашел точно когда эта модель была представлена рынку, но предполагаю что это было около 2009 года. Это актуальная модель, так что не требует особого поиска, просто принятия решения:).

At the end: to tell the truth, I was hoping that the ebonite feed would bring the flow closer to normal relative to the plastic one in Reminiscence, but the flow has practically not changed, it is wet and juicy. The full converter was used up for a test sketch and 3 test sheets A5 with the text as in the post (with low filling). But on the other hand, such a presentation will delight lovers of wet and smooth writing :). The second thing that can be a little annoying is the “long” thread of cap. During the test drawing, I was distracted 5-6 times, and to be honest, such a “long” thread is not for me. Otherwise, it is a wonderful instrument with traditional Italian elegance and style, but for me it is another “status”(image) pen for signatures and significant resolutions :). I have not found exactly when this model was introduced to the market, but I guess it was around 2009. This is an actual model, so it doesn’t require any special search, just making a decision :).
