Наверное последнее привет и последний пост в этом году! После предыдущего TWSBI хочется закончить год на позитивной ноте. Я уже делал несколько обзоров на безколпачковые Pilot в разных дизайнах, а сегодня хочу показать младшую модель из семейства Pilot Capless.

Probably the last hi and last review(post) this year! After the previous TWSBI, I would like to end the year on positive note. I have already done several reviews of the Pilot Capless in different colors, and today I want to show the younger model of Capless family.

Pilot Caples Deсimo Burgundy EF (made in Japan) FCT-15SR-R-EF

Данная модель полностью идентична раннее показанным Vanishing Point с тем лишь исключением что она немного меньше(тоньше) в деталях: корпус, клип, колечки; но при этом используется тот-же самый перьевой узел-гильза. Основной корпус изготовлен из анодированного алюминия(в данном варианте цвета Бургунди), колпачок клипа из нержавеющей стали, клип из специальной стали с родированным покрытием, прочие металлические детали и кнопка из латуни покрытой родием. Система заправки – картриджно-конвертерная, проприетарного формата Pilot. Колпачка нет, перо из корпуса выдвигается с помощью кнопки в торце ручки.

This model is completely identical to the previously shown Vanishing Point with the only exception that it is slightly smaller (thinner) in details: body, clip, rings; but at the same time with same nib unit inside. Main body made from anodized aluminum(Burgundy in this version), clip cap from stainless steel, clip from rhodium plated special steel, other metal parts and botton from rhodium plated brass. Filling system is cartridge-converter, proprietary Pilot format. There is no cap and nib is pulled out from the body using a button at the end of the pen.

Из элементов брендирования на клипе выдавлена надпись decimo, и на основном корпусе нанесены краской Pilot Japan на противоположной от клипа стороне. В комплект штатно входит конвертер Con-40.

From the branding elements on the clip, the decimo is embossed, and on the main body is painted Pilot Japan on the side opposite to the clip. In the modern retail set includes Con-40 converter as standard.

Перо: полностью идентичное модели Vanishing Point, золотое, 18 каратное, полностью покрытое родием, маленькое и немного (приятно) упругое. На перо нанесены: PILOT, 18K750, <EF> а в хвостовой части P221(февраль 2021) и ювелирное клеймо Pilot-Namiki. Перо на фидер крепится с помощью специальных салазок.

The nib: fully identical to the Vanishing Point model, 18K solid gold, rhodium plated, small and slightly (nicely) springy. On the nib: PILOT, 18K750, <EF> and in the tail section P221 (February 2021) with Pilot-Namiki jewelry mark. The nib is mounted on the feed using special slides.

Изначально я подумал что эта ручка Bordeaux из лимитированной серии 2020 года FCTL-2MR-BOF выпускавшейся по 5 цветов каждый квартал, но с учетом производства пера от февраля 2021 года это модель скорее FCT-15SR-R-EF. Цвета в интернете на столько отличаются на фотографиях что очень трудно точно идентифицировать. Интересно что практически во всех североамериканских магазинах от США до Канады, данная модель носит название PILOT Vanishing Point Decimo (65334), Burgundy Barrel with Rhodium Accents, хотя это равносильно тому как если бы в автосалонах продавалась машина FORD F150-GT40 :). На мой взгляд Vanishing Point и Decimo – это 2 разные модели входящие в линейку Pilot Capless вместе со снятой с производства Fermo и новой LS.

Minutes of history:
Firstly I thought this Bordeaux pen from the 2020 limited series FCTL-2MR-BOF, produced in 5 colors every quarter, but considering the February 2021 nib production, I think this is a FCT-15SR-R-EF model. The colors in web is so different on the photo so it is very difficult to accurately identify. It is interesting that in almost all North American stores from the USA to Canada, this model is called PILOT Vanishing Point Decimo (65334) Burgundy Barrel with Rhodium Accents, although this is tantamount to selling a FORD F150-GT40 car in dealerships :). In my opinion Vanishing Point and Decimo are 2 different models included in the Pilot Capless line along with the discontinued Fermo and new LS.

Что же касается истории конструкции Capless то она началась в далеком 1963 году, когда компания Pilot разработала уникальную безколпачковую систему к проведению XVIII летних Олимпийских игр запланированных в Токио, с 10 по 24 октября 1964 года. Это были первые Олимпийские игры, проводимые в Азии. В первых моделях изготовленных в конце 1963 года выдвижение пера осуществлялось поворотным механизмом и только в следующем году была создана система с кнопкой, как недорогая версия для студентов из нержавеющей стали и пластика. Изначально ручки назывались Pilot Capless, но в 1973 году компания поменяла название модели на Vanishing Point, а вот привычный и знакомый нам дизайн Vanishing Point появился только в 1998 году. В 2005 году компания решила дополнить к выпускаемой модели Vanishing Point более легкую и тонкую версию, как дань уважения ранним моделям и назвала ее Decimo. А в 2006 году появилась модель Fermo как дань уважения первым моделям с выдвижением пера методом поворота, однако в 2020 году компания прекратила их производство. Модель безусловно красивая с точки зрения эстетики, но обладала некомфортным балансом из-за тяжелого поворотного механизма в торце ручки, отчего ручка в руке стремилась опрокинутся и оторвать перо от бумаги. В этом-же 2020 году была анонсирована новая модель Pilot Capless LS (luxurly silent?), с гибридным кнопочно-поворотным механизмом, когда перо выдвигается быстрым нажатием кнопки, а убирается мягким поворотом. К сожалению я еще не пробовал эту ручку так что ничего не могу сказать про баланс в сравнении с Vanishing Point и Fermo.

As for the history of the Capless design, it began back in 1963, when Pilot developed a unique capless system for the XVIII Summer Olympic Games planned in Tokyo, from October 10 to 24, 1964. These were the first Olympic Games to be held in Asia. In the first models made at the end of 1963, the nib retraction was carried out by a twisting mechanism, and only the following year was the system with button created as an inexpensive version for students from stainless steel with plastic. Initially, the pens design called Pilot Capless, but in 1973 the company changed this name to Vanishing Point, but the modern well-known design Vanishing Point appeared only in 1998. In 2005, the company decided to add a lighter and thinner version to its Vanishing Point model, in homage to the earlier models, and named it Decimo. And in 2006, the Fermo was introduced as a tribute to the first models with a twist retractable mechanism, but in 2020 the company discontinued this model. The Fermo is certainly beautiful from the point of view of aesthetics, but in hand have uncomfortable balance due to the heavy twist mechanism at the end of the pen, which made the pen in hand tended to tip over and tear the nib off the paper. In the same 2020, a new model Pilot Capless LS (luxurly silent?) was announced, with a hybrid push-button-twist mechanism, when the nib is retracted by quick press and move in with a soft ring rotate. Unfortunately I haven’t tried this knob yet so I can’t say anything about balance compared to Vanishing Point and Fermo.

Общие размеры инструмента: длина со спрятанным пером – 140мм, длина с выдвинутым пером – 137мм. Диаметр корпуса – 11.7мм, вместе с клипом – 14мм, в месте хвата – 10.8мм. Вес ручки без картриджа/конвертера – 15г, с заправленным конвертером – 20г.

The overall dimensions of the tool: length with hidden nib – 140mm, length with move out nib – 137mm. Body diameter – 11.7mm, with clip – 14mm and at the grip – 10.8mm. Pen weight without cartridge/converter – 15g and with filled converter – 20g.

Замечательный представитель безколпачковой системы, великолепный цвет, но увы, последнее время все чаще и чаще сталкиваюсь с тем что ручки этого бренда сейчас продаются с пережатыми перьями и эта не исключение. Это конечно не большая проблема, но все равно не приятно. После настройки пера ручка была протестирована на европейских чернилах.

A wonderful representative of capless system with great color, but alas, lately I have more and more often come across the fact that the pens of this brand are now sold with pinched nibs, and this pen is no exception. This is certainly not a big problem, but still not pleasant. After tuning the nib, this pen was tested by European inks.

Ширина линии, после настройки, ординарной стороной составляет 0.2-0.25мм, обратная сторона дает практически идентичную линию 0.25мм, как по ширине, так и по насыщенности.

The line width, after adjust, by the ordinary right side is 0.2-0.25mm, the reverse side gives an almost identical 0.25mm line, both in width and in saturation.

В итоге: невероятно комфортный и приятный пишущий инструмент, собственно как и его старший брат Vanishing Point, только чуть более тонких линий и меньшего веса. Для меня он немного тонковат в хвате, но думаю прекрасно подойдет для женской или небольшой руки с тонкими пальцами. В общем я рекомендую к пробе и покупке:).

At the end: an incredibly comfortable and pleasant writing tool, in fact, like its older brother Vanishing Point, only slightly thinner lines and less weight. For me, it is a little thin in the grip, but I think it is perfect for woman’s or small hand people with thin fingers. In general, I recommend to try and buy :).

Иллюстрация проблемы пережатого пера, когда на текучих чернилах Pilot Black линия с ведением вниз получается нормальной насыщенности, а с ведением вверх истончается до прозрачной.
