(modern) Montegrappa Nero Uno Linea

I already have a few reviews of this brand’s unusual fountain pens, but they can never have too many)). Perhaps of all modern Italian brands, this one with the largest range of pen assortment products by model. So let’s take a look at another non-standard design.

У мене вже є кілька оглядів незвичайних перових ручок цього бренду, але ж ніколи не буває забагато. Мабуть, із всіх італійських сучасних брендів, цей виробляє найбільший асортимент перової продукції за моделями. Тож нумо подивімось на черговий нестандартний дизайн.

Montegrappa Nero Uno Linea Red gold with 18K first-style F nib (made in Italy) ISNRC2AC

Форма цього приладу письма незвичайна, бо це 8-гранник з металевими навершями. Більш того це не просто 8 граней, а ще з поперечними концентричними борозенками. Матеріал корпусу – смола чорного кольору, а елементи фурнітури покрити червоним золотом, хоча оком виглядають як звичайне золото. Система заправки картріджно-конвертерна формату international, тож конвертер самий типовий але має різблення для кращого з’єднання з секцією. Ковпачок на різбленні, закриття\відкриття за 1 оберт.

The shape of this writing instrument is unusual, because it is an octagonal with metal tops. Moreover, it is not just 8 faces, but also with transverse concentric grooves. The body material is black resin with fittings are red gold-plated, although they look like ordinary gold to the eye. The filling system is a cartridge-converter by the international format, but converter has a thread for better connection to the section. Cap on thread, closing/opening in 1 turn.

З брендування на широкому кільці навершя ковпачка, над кліпом, нанесено – Montegrappa, а зі зворотньої сторони – Italia. На наверші корпусу розташувався медальйон з датою заснування компанії – 1912 рік. Кліп традиційно італійського типу з колесиком наприкінці. Цікаво що навершя ковпачка має конічну форму та 16 граней, від чого блищить у руках як діамант.

From the branding on the wide caps top ring, above the clip, Montegrappa is applied and on the reverse – Italia. On the bodies top there is a medallion with the date of the company’s foundation – 1912. Clip have traditionally Italian type with a wheel at the end. It is interesting that the top of the cap has a conical shape with 16 faces, which makes it shine in the hands like a diamond.

Як писав вище, окрім 8 граней на корпусі додатково є перпендикулярні борозенки від чого корпус не ковзає та добре відчувається у руці. Єдине питання визиває фідер – прямий чорнильний канал що ніяк не пов’язаний з ламелами буде створювати потужний потік чорнил.

As I wrote above, in addition to the 8 faces on the body, there are also perpendicular grooves, so the body does not slide and feels good in the hand. The only question is the feed – a stright long direct ink channel which is not connected to the lamellae in any way will create a powerful flow of ink.

Ще цікава особливість монтування пера та фідера у секції яка більше притаманна вінтажним ручкам 60-70 років – фідер вставляється у секцію зі зворотного боку, та фіксується додатковою гайкою.

Another interesting feature of mounting the nib with feed in the section, which is more characteristic to vintage pens from the 60-70s – the feed is inserted into the section from the back, and fixed by additional nut.

Перо: доволі маленьке золоте перо, яке нагадує перо фірми Lamy та монтується на фідер шляхом додаткових вушок. Перо ординарно жорстке хоча і має невелику пружність, але ця пружність може відчуватись тільки при письмі та ніяк не впливає на ширину лінії. На перо тільки нанесено ім’я бренду – Montegrappa, та матеріал пера – 18K 750 яке написано вздовж пера. Ще цікаво що це перший дизайн пера який більше пасує до загального дизайну ручки, бо сучасна форма пера у моделі NeroUno має класичну напівсферичну форму пера з більш звичайним фідером.

The nib: a fairly small solid gold nib that resembles a Lamy format when nib mounted on the feed by additional tabs. The pen is ordinary hard, although it has a little springy, but this spring can be felt only when writing and does not affect to the line width in any way. The nib has only the brand name – Montegrappa, and the nib material – 18K 750 which is written along the nib. It is also interesting that this is the early nib design which later chaangen on more ordinary hemispherical shape with mounting in screwed collar.

Загальні розміри інструменту: повна довжина – 143мм, зі знятим ковпачком – 133.75мм. Діаметр корпусу – 13мм (12мм по гранях), у місці хвату – 10.5мм. Вага зі встановленим конвертером – 33.2гр, а зі знятим ковпачком – 20.8гр.

Overall dimensions: full length – 143mm, without cap – 133.75mm. Body diameter – 13mm (12mm on facets), at the grip – 10.5mm. The full weight with converter is 33.2g, and without cap – 20.8g.

Я вже неодноразово описував історію компанії Montegrappa, то-ж це можна пошукати в минулих постах, а що стосовно моделі Nero Uno то компанія каже що її дизайн розроблявся на основі сучасних тенденцій ювелірних виробів. Дата першої появи у магазинах це 2009 рок, але у 2008 було зроблено лімітоване видання до дня незалежності України.

Moments of history:
I have already described the history of the Montegrappa company several times, so you can search it in other posts, and as for the Nero Uno model, the company says that its design was developed on the basis of modern jewelry trends. The date of the first appearance in stores is 2009, but in 2008 a limited edition was made to the Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Спочатку була представлена звичайна модель Nero Uno з гладкими гранями, а трохи згодом з’явилась Nero Uno Linea як у цьому огляді. Ще варто зауважити що існує три версії оформлення фітингів – паладієве, позолота червоним золотом та рутенієм. Поруч з перовими ручками у цьому дизайні були доступні ще кулькові ручки та ролери. Окрім цього пера незвичайної форми, пізніше пера були у формі стріли(чи спису) яки монтувалися з фідером у типовому стакані та вкручувались у секцію звичайним шляхом.

First, the regular Nero Uno model with smooth edges was presented, and a little later the Nero Uno Linea appeared, as in this review. It is also worth noting that there are three versions of fittings – palladium, red gold and ruthenium. Along with fountain pens, ballpoint pens and rollerballs were also available in this design. In addition to this nib of this unusual shape, later nibs have classic spherical shape but in arrow form(or spear) that were mounted with feed in a typical collar which screwed into the section in the usual way.

The pen was tested by me in traditional ways))

Ширина звичайної лінії прямою стороною становить 0.45мм. Зворотний бік пише трохи прозоріше товщиною лінії 0.3мм. Ковзання дуже гладке.

The width of the normal line by the right side is 0.45mm. The reverse side writes a little transparent by thickness of 0.3mm. Glide is very smooth.

В решті решт: Чесно кажучи коли я бачив цю ручку на фотографіях в інтернеті вона мене ніяк не приваблювала ні формою корпусу, ні формою пера, але коли я їй покористувався то вимушен сказати що щось у неї таки є)). Баланс дуже комфортний, хват зручний та щось в неї наче пафосне, але не попсове, і ще форма навершя ковпачка взагалі нагадує королівську корону. Для мене трохи псує враження занадто волога лінія що майже унеможливлює створення тонких штрихів, але для шанувальників вологої лінії це навпаки буде добре. До речі відкрив для себе приємність чорнил Montegrappa Black, бо до цього десь чув що вони такі собі. Мені сподобалось – маслянисті, покривані, доволі чорні, холодного відтінку та що найприємніше, що за дуже вологою лінією вони не розтікаються по паперу без жодного натяку на ялинку.

At the end: To be honest, when I saw this pen on photos in Internet, it did not attract me in any way, neither the shape of body nor the shape of nib, but when I used it, I have to say that it does have something)). The balance and grip is are comfortable and pen have something aristocratic, but not pop, and the shape of caps top generally resembles a royal crown. For me, the overly wet line from nib spoils the impression a little, which makes it almost impossible to create fine strokes, but for fans of the wet line, on the contrary, it will be good feeling. By the way, I discovered the pleasure from Montegrappa Black inks, because before that I heard somewhere that they are so-so ink. I liked it – are oily, covered, quite black with little cold shade, and the best thing is that after a very wet line, without blooding on the paper without any fur(feather) near line.

She has won several awards for her work as an actress, including two Silver Ribbons, a Ciak d’Oro nomination and David di Donatello (one of the most important Italian acting awards for actress) for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She started her film career in 2010 with secondary roles, but since 2014 she has already started playing the main roles.
