Hello friends! Probably everyone knows the Homo Sapiens models from Visconti, but not everyone knows that in addition to the traditional “Basalt lava” design the company produced also more traditional versions, even with cartridge-converter filling systems. And this is just such a model.

Вітаю друзі! Мабуть всі знають моделі Homo Sapiens від Visconti, але не всі знають що окрім традиційної “Базальтової лави” були і більш традиційні виконання, навіть з картриджно-конвертерними системами заправки. І це як раз така модель.

Visconti Homo Sapiens Elegance, Oversize (made in Italy) 767ST01PAD55-F

За формою цей інструмент майже ідентичний до описаного мною Visconti Homo Sapiens Steel Age та відрізняється матеріалом виконання і системою заправки. Циліндрична форма з трохи округлими закінченнями та пузатим ковпачком. Матеріал виконання глянсова смола чорного кольору. Система заправки – картріджно-конвертерна стандарту intarnational. Ковпачок має фірмовий байонет Hook Safe Lock.

The shape of this pen is almost identical to the Visconti Homo Sapiens Steel Age which I described early, but differs in the material and filling system. Cylindrical shape with slightly rounded tops and a barrel-shaped cap. The material is black glossy resin. The filling system is a cartridge-converter of the international standard. The cap has a branded Hook Safe Lock bayonet.

На відміну від звичайного Homo Sapiens прикрашаюче кільце має зворотне гравіювання – тобто не букв, а простору між ними, і мені здається це було зроблено лазерним методом по секторах (10 секторів). На кільце нанесено логотип бренду V та назву моделі Homo Sapiens. Також на відомий кліп не нанесено лаку як на звичайну модель, а ім’я бренду виділено гравіюванням простору навколо букв Visconti.

Unlike the usual Homo Sapiens, the decorative ring has reverse engraving – space between letters, not the same letters, and it seems to me by laser engraving method by sectors (10 sectors). The V brand logo and the model name Homo Sapiens are placed on this ring. Also, the famous clip is not covered by lacquer like a regular model, this brand name is highlighted also by engraving the space around the Visconti letters.

Перо: золоте, 18Каратне, покрите родієм перо власного виробництва, 6го розміру. Монтується з пластиковим фідером у стакані на терті, який не має ключів, але має заглиблення під форму пера. На перо нанесено фірмовий візерунок, ім’я бренду Visconti, матеріал пера – 18K 750 та розмір кінчика – F.

The nib: solid gold, 18-carat, in-house, rhodium plated, size 6. Mounted with a plastic feed in collar by friction, coller does not have keys, but has cut space for nibs tail. The nib have a brand pattern, brand name Visconti, gold sample – 18K 750 and tip size – F.

Загальні розміри інструменту: довжина у складеному стані – 146мм, зі знятим ковпачком – 132мм. Діаметр корпусу – 14мм, в місці хвату – 11.1мм. Повна вага незаправленої ручки – 38.3гр(без картріджа\конвертера), а зі знятим ковпачком – 18.2гр.

Overall dimensions: folded length – 146mm, without cap – 132mm. Body diameter – 14mm, and at the grip – 11.1mm. The total weight of unfilled pen is 38.3g(without cartridge/converter), and without cap – 18.2g.

На тлі широкої популярності моделі Homo Sapiens, але для тих хто був незадоволені заправкою вбудованого конвертера, компанія випустила модель зі звичайним конвертером. Зважаючи на те що зробити профілактику вбудованому конвертеру Homo Sapiens майже неможливо, то ця модель значно привабливіша за конструкцією, залишається лише поскаржитись на те що матеріал корпусу компанія не залишила як “базальтову лаву”. Against the background of the wide popularity of the Homo Sapiens model, but for those who were dissatisfied with the filling of the built-in(captive) converter, the company released a model with standard international converter(with thread). Considering the fact that it is almost impossible to service captive converter in Homo Sapiens, this model is much more attractive in terms of design, it remains only to complain that the company did not leave the body material as “basaltic lava”. Не зважаючи на те що ручку я придбав майже півтора року тому, але на огляд спромігся тільки зараз)).

Despite the fact that I bought this pen almost a 1.5 years ago, but I did review it only now)).

Ширина лінії прямою стороною становить 0,4 мм, натиск дозволяє збільшити цю лінію до 0,7 мм. Зворотний бік пише сухо, тонко та прозоро з шириною лінії 0.2мм.

 The line width by right side is 0.4mm, and pressure allows to increase this line to 0.7mm. The reverse side writes dryly, thin and transparensy with a line width of 0.2mm.

Що в підсумках: як щоб матеріал корпусу був з базальтової лави як у звичайної моделі, то це б для мене була б жадана модель, по конструкції проста і зрозуміла. З деякого часу я не маю гонитви за великим об’ємом чорнил, навіть навпаки, з точки зору малювання, малий об’єм чорнил здається більше привабливим, бо частіше можна змінювати колір. Але використання великого (довгого) картриджу international легко вирішує питання об’єму. На жаль як із більшості мого досвіду з Visconti, з коробки, перо  писало погано, було переполіроване, мало хардстарти та половинки були занадто стислі. Але після додаткового налаштування та корегування перо пише неперевершено – тонко, соковито, а зворотній бік напівпрозоро, до того ж має трохи пружності. Тож як що ви маєте досвід в налаштуванні пера то можу рекомендувати вам цю ручку, або купувати у досвідчених користувачів яки можуть 100% запевнити у працездатності пера. Розмір та вигляд цього інструменту неперевершено комфортний та привабливий!

At the end: if the material of the body was made of basaltic lava like in a regular HS model, then it would be a desired model for me, the design is simple and clear. For some time now, I have not pursued a large volume of ink, on the contrary, from the point of view of drawing, a small volume of ink seems more attractive, because I can change the color(ink) more often. But if use a large (long) international cartridge easily solves the issue of increase volume. Unfortunately as with most of my experiences with Visconti nibs (from the box), the nib wrote poorly, was overpolished, has hardstarts and the tines were too tight. But after additional adjustment and correction, this nib writes perfectly – thinly, juicy, and the reverse side is semi-transparent, besides, it has a little elasticity. So if you have experience in nib adjusting, then I can recommend to you this pen, or you can buy it from experienced users who can 100% assure the functionality of the nib. The size and appearance of this tool is extremely comfortable and attractive!

And finally, traditionally, a sketch – one of the best military pilots of Ukraine, Anton Lystopad.

30-річний льотчик Антон Листопад з Івано-Франківська загинув на фронті. Військовий був визнаний найкращим льотчиком Повітряних Сил ЗСУ у 2019 році. Антон Листопад був учасником бойових дій на сході України, після повномасштабного вторгнення росії. Попрощались з Антоном Листопадом в Івано-Франківську в понеділок, 15 серпня. За кілька днів до загибелі президент Володимир Зеленський нагородив льотчика орденом за мужність 3-го ступеня.

30-year-old pilot Anton Lystopad from Ivano-Frankivsk died at the front. Military was recognized as the best pilot of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2019. Anton Lystopad was a participant in the hostilities in the east of Ukraine, after the full-scale invasion of russia. We said goodbye to Anton Lystopad in Ivano-Frankivsk on Monday, August 15. A few days before his death, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the pilot with the 3rd degree Order of Courage.
