Привіт! Як що ви вважаєте Montblanc 149 надвеликою ручкою то можу вам сказати що ви просто не бачили великих ручок)). Сьогодні як раз огляд на таку саму, – велику ручку.

Lotus Maharaja in Nikko Red (made in India) product code 35

Раніше, при опису ручок, можна було зустріти  порівняння з формою сигари, так вот форма цієї ручки і є справжня сигара. Матеріал корпусу це японський ебоніт Nikko червоного кольору. Система заправки: картриджно-конвертерна, формату інтернешнл (international). Ковпачок на різбленні, різблення звичайне, закриття/відкриття за 1 та 3/4 обертів.

Earlier, in describing pens, we could find a comparison shape with the shape of a cigar, so the shape of this pen is a real cigar also by size. The material of tool is red Nikko Japanese ebonite. Filling system is cartridge-converter, international format. Cap on thread, one-start thread, for open\closing used 1 and 3/4 turns.

З прикрас ковпачок має тільки кліп, який притискається навершям до корпусу ковпачка на відміну від японських ручок такого типу. Баланс ручки зміщений до задньої частини десь на відстані 2/5 по довжині (без урахування ковпачка).

Of the decorations, the cap has only a clip, which is pressed by the top, unlike most Japanese pens of this type. The balance of pen is shifted to the end at 2/5 of the length (of course without cap posting:)).

Корпус відполіровано доволі якісно, хоча він значно програє в блиску ручкам покритим лаком Уруші та навіть відлитим зі смоли чи пластику.

The body is polished quite well, although it is significantly inferior in shining to pen covered by Urushi lacquer and even cast from resin or plastic.

Перо: ручка комплектується стандартним сталевим пером виробництва JoWo жовтого кольору та 6 розміру. Це звичайне жорстке перо з невеликою степеню пружності.  На перо методом лазерного гравіювання нанесено логотип та назва бренду Lotus, а на праву грань методом тиснення розмірність пера – F. Перо зі стандартним пластиковим фідером монтується у пластиковий стакан який вкручується у секцію.

The nib: the pen is complete by standard yellow colored JoWo stainless steel nib by 6 size. This is an ordinary hard nib and a little springly. The logo and name of the Lotus brand is laser-engraved on the nib surface, and the dimension size F on the right side by embossing. The nib with standard plastic feed is mounted in plastic collar by friction and then screwed into the section.

Overall tool dimensions: folded length is – 171 mm, without cap – 150 mm. The diameter of the body is – 17,3 mm, at the grip – 13 mm. The weight of folded tool is – 49,8g, without cap – 27,6g. (without cartridge/converter)

Засновник компані Lotus Арун Сінгхі. Як написано на сайті Lotus компанія починає відлік свого існування від першого замовлення на 5 ручок на дату 3 січня 2015 року. Кредо компанії що кожна пір’яна ручка на 100% ручної роботи.  Спочатку компанія почала з розфарбованих ручок, але зараз працює з металом та ебонітом. The founder of Lotus company Arun Singhi. As written on the Lotus website, the company begins counting its existence from the first order for 5 pens on January 3, 2015. The credo of the company is that each fountain pen is 100% handmade. Initially, the company started with painted pens, but now works with metal and ebonite. Цю ручку я придбав на вторинному ринку і навіть дорожче за ціною чим вказано на офіційному сайті, тому що мені дуже сподобався колір який був на фотографіях лота та виглядав як справжній червоний, а сама ручка формою дуже нагадувала Pilot Namiki Emperor.

I bought this pen on the secondary market and even more expensive than the price by the official website, because I really liked the color that was on the lots photos looked like a real red, and the shape was very similar to the Pilot Namiki Emperor.

Ширина лінії прямою стороною становить 0.4-0.45 мм, натиск дозволяє збільшити цю лінію до 0,6 мм. Зворотний бік пише лінією в 0.3мм яка спочатку значно шкрябала, але я це виправив. Прямою стороною лінія доволі волога.

 The line width by right side is 0.4-0.45 mm, and pressure allows to increase this line to 0.6mm. The reverse side is written with a line of 0.3 mm, which scratched a lot at first, but I fixed that. The right side of the line is quite wet.

В решті решт: як я написав вище мене звабив колір, якій останнім часом я дуже полюбив, і ще те що ручка формою нагадувала Pilot Namiki Emperor Vermillion який я навряд чи собі коли-небудь куплю. Коли чогось сильно чекаєш, а потім це отримуєш і коли річ перевершує очікування ти її звеличуєш, а коли недотягує то ти готов її принижувати. Коли я розпакував ручку я був дуже розчарований. По-перше, колір який на фото здавався яскраво червоним та нагадував Vermilion чи Aka(赤) на справді виявився лише бляклим нагадуванням про червоний, бо був блякло-світло-червоно-корічневим, навіть гіршим ніж мій затертий шкіряний чохол від смартфона. По-друге, купа дрібниць таких як пожухлий кліп, мабуть, окиснена латунь, безглузде кімоно – як якийсь ватник, футляр з пресованого картону та і взагалі форма самої ручки нагадувала неотесану дубину чи саморобну бейсбольну биту зроблену у лісі позбавлену елегантності. Потім я перечекав 2 тижні і сьогодні взявся зробити огляд і вже по іншому став ставитися до ручки. Звісно все що я описав вище нікуди не ділось, але я поглянув на все з іншої точки зору. Я зрозумів що такий оверсайз занадто великий для мене і було б набагато гірше придбати Namiki Emperor і потім розчаруватись.  То ж непогано мати для порівняння таку велику ручку, але не витрачаючи великих коштів, до того ж обробка доволі непогано виглядає до якої додано непоганий матеріал у вигляді японського ебоніту. Перо звичайне, але має найпоширеніший 6 розмір тому його буде легко замінити, хоча навряд чи я буду користуватись цією ручкою. Тобто зараз я навряд чи би придбав таку ручку, але і продавати цю не буду. До речі, в якості кастомізації, у виробника можна замовити секцію з 8 розміром пера, але воно не таке поширене як 6 тож як що воно не сподобається то замінити його буде значно важче, а мене розмір не бентежить, то ж 6 навіть краще для мене.

At the end: as I wrote above, I was attracted by the lot color on the photos, which I really like lately, and also the fact that the shape reminded me of Pilot Namiki Emperor Vermillion, which I am unlikely to ever buy. When expect something a lot, and then get it, and when the thing exceeds expectations, you magnify it, but when it disappointing, you are ready to humiliate it. When I unboxed this pen I was very disappointed. First of all, the color that appeared to be clear red on the photo like Vermilion or Aka(赤) actually turned out to be only a faded reminder of red, because it was a faded light-red-brown, even worse than my worn leather smartphone case. Secondly, a tarnished clip, probably oxidized brass, a ridiculous kimono – like a thick work jacket, a case made of pressed cardboard and, in general, the shape of pen which resembled a crude Hulk club or home-made baseball bat, made in the forest, without elegance. Then I waited 2 weeks and yesterday I started to do review and began to treat the pen in a different way. Of course, everything I described above did not go anywhere, but I looked at everything from a different point of view. I realized that such an oversized is too big for me and it would be much worse to buy Namiki Emperor and then be disappointed. Also, it is not bad to have such a large pen for comparison, but without spending a lot of money, besides, the finish looks quite good, to which a good material in the form of Japanese ebonite is added. The nib is ordinary, but is the most common size 6 so it will be easy to replace, although I’m unlikely to use this pen. That is now, I would hardly buy this pen, but I will not ready to sell this pen. By the way, as a customization, you can order from manufacturer a section with 8 size nib, but it is not as common as a 6, so if you don’t like it, it will be much more difficult to replace it, and the size doesn’t bother me, so the 6 is even better for me .

Першим доповненням хочу показати як виглядає повний комплект. Дуже цікаво що кімоно настільки об’ємне що футляр не зачиняється повністю.

Як що футляр для вас важливий то його варто зберігати подалі від вологи та механічних ушкоджень.

If the case is important to you, it should be stored away from moisture and mechanical damage.

До речі, перо яке було встановлено у ручку мало ось таку щілину, яле я не можу стверджувати що така настройка була з заводу чи це персональне налаштування на вологе письмо попереднього власника. Звісно що я перед тестом виправив перо на правильне налаштування, яке все одно здалось мені вологим))

By the way, the nib that was installed in the pen had big gap, but I can’t say whether this setting was from the factory or this is a personal setting for the wet writing of the previous owner. Of course, I adjusted nib to the correct setting before the test, which still wet nib to me))

Ось може так вийде краще зрозуміти колір, намагався попасти точно, але все одно очима виглядає трохи інакше. Пізніше зроблю фото в порівнянні з чимось дійсно червоним.
