(modern) Lamy Imporium

Привет! Эта осень получилась под знаменами Lamy и сегодня это будет уже 3ий обзор данного бренда. На этот раз хочу показать вам одного из флагманов современной линейки Lamy.

Hey! This autumn has turned out under the banner of Lamy and today it will be the third review of this brand. This time I want to show you one of the flagships of the modern Lamy pens.

Lamy Imporium Matte Black w|14K EF (made in Germany) 092-BlkBlk

Данная ручка обладает немного футуристическим дизайном и в закрытом состоянии она немного похожа на торпеду времен Второй Мировой войны, а со снятым колпачком на какой-то звездный межгалактический корабль. Со стороны корпуса ручка имеет плоское окончание, а со стороны колпачка – скругленное. Материал изготовления корпуса – нержавеющая сталь с матовым черным PVD покрытием, клип, окончание корпуса и кольцо перед пером с черным лаковым покрытием. Система заправки – картриджно(T10)/конвертерная(Z27) своего проприетарного формата Lamy. Колпачок на резьбе, закрытие/открытие за 1 и 3/4 оборота.

This pen has a slightly futuristic design and when closed it looks a bit like a torpedo from the Second World War, and with cap removed, it looks like some kind of intergalactic stellar ship. On the side of the body, this pen has a flat end, and on the side of the cap it has a rounded end. Body material – stainless steel with matted black PVD coating, but clip,body top and ring before nib in black glossy lacquer. The filling system is cartridge (T10)/converter (Z27) by its proprietary Lamy format. Cap on thread, closing/opening in 1 and 3/4 turns.

Корпус и секция имеют интересный глубокий, линейный, крупный рельеф, но если корпус имеет продольные канавки, то у секция эти канавки поперечные округлой формы напоминающие сжатый пыльник амортизатора. Интересно что все резьбы имеют трубный трапецевидный профиль. Клип изготовлен из магнитящейся стали с черным глянцевым покрытием, на правой стороне которого расположено имя бренда – LAMY.

The body and section have an interesting deep, linear, large relief, but if the body has longitudinal grooves, then the section has transverse rounded grooves resembling a compressed shock absorber boot. Interestingly, all threads have a trapezoidal pipe profile. The clip is made of magnetic steel and covered black glossy finish, on the right side of which is the brand name – LAMY.

Перо: золотое, 14 каратное с черным лаковым покрытием. Это старшее перо Z58 типовой современной линейки Lamy Z. Перо покрыто глянцевым черным лаком за исключением окончания и линии распила половинок. На поверхности расположены надписи: EF, 14K, 585 и LAMY. Перо, как и остальные данного типа, крепятся на фидере при помощи салазок. В данном случае фидер в секции установлен очень плотно, возможно его ставили по горячему, легко вынуть его не получилось, поэтому я не стал прилагать сверхусилий чтобы его не повредить.

The nib: 14K solid gold, black lacquered. This is the higher Z58 nib of the typical modern Lamy Z line. The nib is coated with glossy black varnish, except for the slit cut line. On the surface are the inscriptions: EF, 14K, 585 and LAMY. This nib, like the rest of this type, is mounted on the feed on slides. In this case, the feed in section installed very tightly, perhaps it was put on hot, it was not easy to remove it, so I did not apply extra efforts so as not to damage it.

Общие размеры инструмента: длина в сложенном виде – 142.5мм, со снятым колпачком – 121мм. Диаметр корпуса -12.5мм, в средней части грипа – 10.6мм. Полный вес ручки(включая конвертер) – 47г, а без колпачка – 34г.

Overall tool dimensions: folded length – 142.5mm, without cap – 121mm. The diameter of the body is 12.5mm, in the middle of the grip – 10.6mm. The total weight (include converter) is 47g, and without cap it is 34g.

Про историю компании смотрите другие более ранние посты посвященные этому бренду, а что касается данной модели, то определенно стоит упомянуть что дизайн был придуман известным итальянским архитектором и промышленным дизайнером Марио Беллини(Mario Bellini) и воплощен в изначальной модели Lamy Persona запущенной в 1990году. Вероятно это была первая попытка компании составить достойную конкуренцию Pelikan и Montblan в верхнем ценовом диапазоне. Помимо общего нетривиального дизайна, модель обладала интересной системой скрытого и выдвигающегося клипа и оригинальным, почти коническим пером. Производство Lamy Persona было прекращено в 2010 году, однако в 2015 году модель была почти возрождена в лице Lamy Imporium, правда перо было заменено на стандартное формата Z, а клип утратил свой выдвижной механизм.
Марио Беллини — итальянский архитектор и дизайнер, окончил Миланский политехнический факультет архитектуры в 1959 году и начал работать архитектором в начале 1960-х годов. Является обладателем 8 Compasso d’Oro архитектурных наград, включая Medaglia d’Oro, присужденную ему президентом Итальянской Республики. For the history of the company, see other earlier posts dedicated to this brand, but as for this model, it is definitely worth mentioning that the design was invented by the famous Italian architect and industrial designer Mario Bellini and embodied in the original Lamy Persona model launched in 1990. This was probably the first attempt by the company to compete with Pelikan and Montblan in the upper price range. In addition to the general non-trivial design, the model had an interesting system of hidden and retractable clip and original, almost conical nib. The Lamy Persona was discontinued in 2010, but in 2015 the model was almost revived in Lamy Imporium, although the nib was changed to standard Z format, and clip lost its retractable mechanism.
Mario Bellini is an Italian architect and designer who graduated from the Milan Polytechnic Faculty of Architecture in 1959 and began working as an architect in the early 1960s. He is the owner of 8 Compasso d’Oro architecture awards, including Medaglia d’Oro, awarded by the President of the Italian Republic. He is involved in a variety of designs from architecture and urban planning to products and furniture. His career as a product and furniture designer began in 1963 and until 1991 he was chief design consultant for Olivetti. Mario also collaborated with such world famous companies as Yamaha, Renault, Fiat, Lancia, Fuji, Candy, Rosenthal, etc.

Эта ручка, как и предыдущая Лами 2000, была оставлена в столе на долгое время с чернилами которые полностью высохли и так-же заклинили поршень в конвертере. После обслуживания ручка была проверена в работе.

This pen, like the previous Lamy 2K, was left in table for a long time with the ink which completely dry and also stuck piston in converter. After servicing, the pen was tested in work.

Ширина ординарной линии прямой стороной составляет – 0.4мм, скольжения очень приятное с небольшой и инерционной обратной связью которое можно охарактеризовать как “бархатное”. Вариативности абсолютно никакой нет. Обратной стороной перо на удивление писало, немного остро, но все-же писало с шириной линии 0.3мм.

The width of ordinary line by the right side is – 0.4mm, sliding is very pleasant with light inertial feedback that can be described as “velvet”. There is absolutely no variability. The reverse side of the nib was surprisingly writing, a little crispy, but still writing with line width of 0.3mm.

В итоге: изначально, на фотографии, мне ручке не очень понравилась – с одной стороны я не люблю крашенные поверхности(включая PVD), а с другой стороны я подумал что вес будет избыточный и конусовидная секция будет неудобной. Однако во время теста я не испытал никакого дискомфорта, более того эргономика очень приятная, рука абсолютно не уставала. Обратная связь от пера тоже очень приятна, однако у ручки есть и минусы. Первый и главный минус на для меня это ординарно жесткое перо, а второй это плохо фиксирующийся конвертер в секции которому достаточно легкого прикосновения чтобы он выпал. Я боюсь что это может случится даже от небольшой тряски или толчка. В остальном это качественный и целостный инструмент.

At the end: initially, on the photo, I didn’t really like this pen – on the one hand, I don’t like coated surfaces (including PVD), but on the other hand, I thought that the weight would be overweight and the tapered section would be uncomfortable. However, during the test, I did not experience any discomfort, moreover, the ergonomics are very pleasant, the hand did not get tired at all. The feedback from the nib is also very pleasure, but the pen has its drawbacks. The first and main disadvantage for me is an ordinary hard nib, and the second is a poorly fixed converter in a section for which a light touch is enough to make it fall out. I am afraid that this can happen even from a slight shake or push. Otherwise, it is a high-quality and solid build tool.

Tessa Charlotte Rampling is an English actress, model, and singer, known for her work in European arthouse films in English, French, and Italian. An icon of the Swinging Sixties, she began her career as a model and later became a fashion icon and muse.
She was cast in the role of Meredith in the 1966 film Georgy Girl, which starred Lynn Redgrave. She soon began making French and Italian arthouse films, notably Luchino Visconti’s The Damned (1969) and Liliana Cavani’s The Night Porter (1974). She went on to star in Zardoz (1974), Farewell, My Lovely (1975), Woody Allen’s Stardust Memories (1980), opposite Paul Newman in The Verdict (1982), Long Live Life (1984), Max, Mon Amour (1986), Angel Heart (1987), and The Wings of the Dove (1997). In 2002 she released an album of recordings in the style of cabaret, titled As a Woman.

Ming-Na Wen (Chinese: 溫明娜) is an American actress and model. Wen is best known for her starring role as Fa Mulan in the animated musical action films Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004), and as Melinda May/The Cavalry in the ABC superhero drama series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013–2020). She reprised the role of Mulan in the video game Kingdom Hearts II (2005), the animated children’s series Sofia the First (2014), and the animated comedy film Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018). Additionally, Wen made a cameo appearance in the live-action remake of Mulan (2020).
Wen is well known for her role as Dr. Jing-Mei “Deb” Chen in the medical drama series ER (1995–2004). She starred as Rachel Lu in the medical drama series Inconceivable (2005), one of the few American television series with an Asian American series lead.
