Visconti Opera Club Orange LE w|14K old style nib (made in Italy)

Модель относится к линейке Visconti “Square and Circle” и представляет из себя в поперечном сечении квадрат со сглаженными углами, идентичную модель я показывал в обзоре Visconti Black Guilloche. Материал корпуса в данной ручке – смола оранжевого цвета, но не однородная а на подобии перламутровой, с мелкими более темными вкраплениями. Система заправки стандартная – картриджно/конвертерная формата интернешенел(international), в секции есть внутренняя резьба для закручивающихся фирменных конвертеров. Колпачок на резьбе, резьба 4х заходная, закрытие/открытие за 2 оборота.

The model includes to the Visconti “Square and Circle” line and is a square in cross section with smoothed corners, the identical to the model Visconti Black Guilloche which I reviewed earlier. The material of the body is orange resin, but not solid color, but in the likeness of mother-of-pearl, with small darker inclusions. The filling system is standard – cartridge/converter international format, in the section there is an internal thread for twisting branded converters. Cap on thread, 4-way thread, closing/opening in 2 turns.

Модель комплектуется стандартной для Опера металлической секцией, системой смены навершия “My Visconty” с базовым стандартным навершием и фирменным клипом с названием компании VISCONTI созданный по мотивам известного древне-римского моста Ponte Vecchio bridge (дословно “старый мост”) – самым древним мостом во Флоренции и единственным сохранившим свой облик до наших дней без изменений.

This model is complete by standard metal section for the Opera line, the “My Visconty” tops interchangeble system with basic top and branded clip with the name of brand VISCONTI, created based on the famous ancient Roman bridge Ponte Vecchio (literally “old bridge”) – the oldest bridge in Florence and preserved in its appearance to the present day without changes.

Окончание корпуса также как у всей серии Opera выполнено металлическим.

The end of body, like the entire Opera series, is made of metal.

Перо: а вот самый интересный элемент данной модели – крупное, золотое, 14 каратное , двухтоновое перо 6го размера с узором старого дизайна. Перо очень приятное и мягкое, по ощущениям сравнимое с известными палладиевыми перьями Dreamtouch. На перо нанесен великолепный узор стилизованного цветка (лилии?), ниже размерность пера M, имя бренда – VISCONTI, проба золота 14K, 585 и ювелирное клеймо ★1425-FI (Firenze).

The nib: and here is the most interesting element of this pen – is a large, solid gold, 14 carat, two-tone nib size 6 with old style pattern design. The nib is very pleasant and soft, the feel is comparable to the well-known Dreamtouch palladium nibs. The nib has a magnificent pattern of a stylized flower (lily?), below the tip dimension is M, the VISCONTI brand name, sample of gold is 14K, 585 and the jewelry mark ★1425-FI (Firenze).

Общие размеры инструмента: длинна в сложенном состоянии – 139мм, при снятом колпачке – 130мм. Диаметр корпуса – 12.4мм(по граням) и 13.7мм (по скругленным ребрам), в месте хвата – 11мм. Вес всей ручки с установленным конвертером – 34гр, а без колпачка – 22гр.

The overall dimensions of the pen: folded length – 139 mm, without cap – 130 mm. Boby diameter – 12.4mm (between faces) and 13.7mm (rounded ribs diameter), at the grip – 11mm. The weight with installed converter is 34g, and without cap – 22g.

Об небольшой истории молодой компании Visconti я уже рассказывал в более ранних постах, но повторюсь что началась она в недалеком 1988 году. Модельный ряд Opera был представлен в 2003 году и получила признание у любителей пера благодаря уникальному дизайну “Квадрокруг” (Squaring the Circle), что по сути объясняет форму корпуса. Сечение корпуса представляет из себя 8и угольник или 8и гранник, у которого 4 грани плоские и представляют фрагменты квадрата, а 4е грани скругленные и представляют из себя части окружности. На протяжении многих лет компания использовала эту уникальную форму во всевозможных вариациях, как по цвету, так и по материалам, чего стоит один полупрозрачный Visconti Wall Street Celluloid или показанный раннее Visconti Opera Master Demo с плунжерной системой заправки. До 2015 года модели Opera выпускались в целом из различных смол, однако на данный момент модель представлена так-же  и в варианте avional (алюминиевый сплав) и помимо обычных перьев 6 размера комплектуются трубчатыми стальными перьями, такими же как и в модели Visconti RaceTech. Что же касается именно этой модели, то в нескольких источниках, включая chatterleyluxuries я прочитал что это ограниченное издание Visconti состоящее из 40 перьевых ручек и 30 шариковых. Но я не нашел на своей модели уникальный номер, как и не нашел на фотографиях в интернете где он должен располагаться. 

Minutes of history:
I already writing about not long history of the young company Visconti in earlier posts, but I repeat that it began in 1988. Introduced in 2003, the Opera line has gained acclaim among pen enthusiasts for its unique “Squaring the Circle” design, which essentially explains the shape of body. The section of the body is 8-facet, in which 4 faces are flat from square fragments and 4 faces are rounded from circle parts. Over the years, the company has used this original design in all sorts of variations, both in color and materials, such as one translucent Visconti Wall Street Celluloid or Visconti Opera Master Demo shown earlier with plunger filling system. Until 2015, Opera models were produced in general from various resins, but at the moment the model is also available in the avional version(aluminum alloy) and, in addition to the usual size 6 nibs, are equipped with tubular steel nibs, the same as in the Visconti RaceTech model. As for this particular model, in several resources, including chatterleyluxuries, I read that this is a limited edition of Visconti consisting of 40 fountain pens and 30 ballpoint pens. But I did not find unique body number on my model, just as I did not find it on the photos fron the Internet where it should be located.

Суть ситуации с этой ручкой описана в первом абзаце: ручка прекрасна на столько, насколько и ужасна. Я неоднократно читал на разных форумах и о качестве ручек Visconti и об их сервисе и вывод только один: если вам повезло и ручка изначально не обладала никакими проблемами, либо она побывала в руках нибмастера то она вас будет радовать долгие и долгие годы, но если вам не повезло то лучше обратится к нибмастеру – таким образом вы сэкономите и время и нервы:). Это чудесное и приятное перо писало(если так можно сказать) просто ужасно, а точнее оно не писало, а оставляло случайные следы. Для меня размерность М не интересна, поэтому я даже не стал его исправлять чтобы проверить, а сразу переточил в EF, потому что сама ручка мне очень понравилась и я планирую ей пользоваться.

The essence of the situation with this pen is described in the first paragraph: this nib is as beautiful as it is terrible. I have repeatedly read on various forums and resources about the highly unstable quality of Visconti pens and their problematic service, and there is only one conclusion: if you are lucky and your nib initially has no problems, or it has been from nibmaister service, then it will please you for many, many years, but if you are unlucky, then it is better to contact the nibmaster – this way you will save both time and nerves :). This wonderful and pleasant nib wrote (if I may say so) just awful, or rather, it did not write, but left random traces. For me, the M dimension is not interesting, so I didn’t even bother to correct it to check it, so I reground it to EF, because I really liked this pen itself and I plan to use it.

Изначально ширина линии была непредсказуемой от полного отсутствия(хард старты) до 0.5мм, при этом линия могла самопроизвольно как стать толще, так и полностью исчезнуть. После коррекции и переточки ширина линии прямой стороной стала 0.3мм, нажим позволяет увеличить эту линию до 0.9-1.0мм. Обратная сторона дает линию шириной 0.3мм, но менее насыщенную и более прозрачную.

Initially, the line width was unpredictable from complete absence (hard starts) to 0.5 mm, while the line could spontaneously become thicker or completely disappear. After correction and regrinding, the width of the line by right side became 0.3mm, pressing allows to increase this line to 0.9-1.0mm. The reverse side gives line with a width of 0.3mm, but less saturated and more transparent.

В итоге: мне очень нравится оранжевый цвет поэтому мне очень нравится эта ручка, более того структура смолы не банально однородного цвета а с красивой текстурой. Стальная секция несмотря на то что гладкая, благодаря своей приталенной форме очень цепкая. Большое двухтоновое перо очень гармонично дополняет форму ручки. Пожалуй единственного чего мне не хватает в этой ручке это продольных полос как у модели Visconti Black Guilloche:)). В остальном это замечательная красивая ручка, особенно если перо гарантированно настроенное:).

At the end: I really like the orange color, so I really like this pen overall, moreover, the structure of the resin is not a banal solid color, but with a beautiful texture. The steel section, despite being smooth, is very grippy due to its fitted shape. The large two-tone nib complements the shape of the pen very harmoniously. Perhaps the only thing I miss in this design is the longitudinal stripes likes on the Visconti Black Guilloche model :)). Otherwise, this is a wonderful beautiful pen, especially if the nib is guaranteed to be tuned :).

The final addon is the traditional sketch and now this is “Italian beauty” – Madalina Ghenea – is an Italian model of Romanian origin.

Mădălina Diana Ghenea is a Romanian actress and model. Ghenea started her career in modelling when she was 15 years old, and started presenting for Gattinoni in Milan, Italy.
Ghenea during her career has participated in fashion shows in Romania, Italy, Germany, Japan, Austria, Spain, France and South Africa; Ghenea during her career has appeared in several advertisements including Peroni, New Yorker and Quelle. in 2007 appeared in a video for Eros Ramazzotti’s album “The New Best of Eros Ramazzotti – Il tempo tra di noi”. Ghenea in 2013 appeared in Dom Hemingway alongside Jude Law.
