It’s no secret that pens with universal nibs are the most available in sale, and the most universal nib is a nib of size M. But despite the fact that it is the middle between thin and wide nibs, it is just the size that does not suit to most fans of thin or wide writing. So what to do? Of course, if you bought a new pen for the first time in a boutique and found out that it is not suitable for you, you can contact this boutique with a request to replace this nib to another size. But if you bought some limited edition or the “last pen with great price”, or even look at some rare model on the secondary market, then there is no such possibility. And it also happens that the user needs a special type of nib that is generally not produced by one or another factory (Italic, Architect, Zoom, and so on). In this case, the best way is to contact a qualified nibmaster, who can not only make the nib you need, but also adjust this nib to the desired ability for you: wet or dry nib, butter smooth sliding or, on the contrary, with feedback).

Не таємниця що найбільше у продажу представлені ручки з універсальними перами, а саме універсальне перо це перо розміру М. Але попри те що це середина між тонкими та широкими перами, це як раз той розмір який не влаштовую ні прихильників тонкого чи широкого письма. То що ж робити? Звісно як що ви перший раз придбали ручку, в бутіку і з’ясували що це не ваш розмір то можна звернутись до цього бутіка с проханням замінити перо на інший розмір. Але як що ви придбали якесь обмежене видання чи останню ручку, чи взагалі дивитись на якусь рідку модель на вторинному ринку то такої можливості немає. А ще буває що користувач потребую в спеціальному пері яке взагалі той чи іншою фабрикою не виробляється (Italic, Architect, Zoom і так далі). В такому випадку кращий спосіб це звернутись до кваліфікованого нібмайстра, який не тільки може зробити необхідний вам наконечник, але і налаштувати ручку на бажанні для вас здібності: вологи чи навпаки сухе перо, гладке ковзання чи, навпаки, зі зворотним зв’язкові).

I have been grinding or adjusting nibs for quite some time now, but I never thought of making a personal grinding post, because all my custom nibs are presented in reviews when it coincides with a review of some pen. But I realized that for the sake of clarity, I need to collect everything in one place. The first nibs I started grinding to UEF size, because factory-made nibs are available only from two manufacturers: Platinum UEF and Sailor Saibi-Togi, but both have significant drawbacks: the first nib is very hard and quickly wears out (increases the size), and the second is too expensive, very rare, and according to user reports, it also wears out quickly. Later, I mastered other types as well.

Я вже доволі давно переточую чи налаштовую пера, але ніколи не замислювався зробити окремий пост, бо всі мої пера представлені в оглядах коли це збігається з оглядом якоїсь ручки, але зрозумів що для наочності треба зібрати все до купи. Перші пера яки я почав переточувати це звісно на розмір UEF, тому що фабрично такі пера представлені тільки у двох виробників: Platinum UEF та Sailor Saibi-Togi, але в обох є суттєві недоліки: перше перо дуже жорстке та швидко стирається(збільшує розмір), а друге занадто коштовне, дуже рідко зустрічається, та за звітами користувачів також швидко стирається. Згодом я опанував і інші типи.
