Hello friends! Some time ago, I received a request to create a custom ebonite body to Parker 75 section. I couldn’t start for a long time because I had to complete other orders and find a solution to some complications. But now I can show some result.

Привіт друзі! Надійшло мені замовлення на створення кастомного корпусу з ебоніту до секції Parker 75. Я довго не міг почати, бо треба було виконати інші замовлення і знайти рішення для вирішення деяких ускладнень. Але зараз можу показати результат.

Про саму модель Parker 75 детальніше можна почитати в окремому огляді Parker 75, тож перейду одразу до справи. Форма дуже схожа на мої Classic та корпус до Pilot Falcon, для мене вони дуже зручні, то ж я не бачив сенсу це змінювати.  Система заправки залишилась власна із підтримкою картриджів або вінтажного squeeze конвертера. Ковпачок на різьблені, різблення двозахідне, закриття/відкриття за 3 оберти.

You can read more detailed about the Parker 75 model in their personal Parker 75 review, so I’ll get straight to work. The shape is very similar to my AL Classic and body to Pilot Falcon models, for me they are very comfortable, so I didn’t see the point in changing it now. The refill system remained original with support both cartridges or vintage squeeze converter. The cap on the thread, with 2-starts, closing/opening in 3 turns.

Складнощі до яких довелось шукати рішення було дві: по-перше, це тонкий металевий корпус, який не можливо виточити із ебоніту, щоб він залишився таким же міцним, а по-друге це дюймове трубне різблення на секції. Тобто треба було придумати як метричними засобами, нарізати дюймове різблення із низьким трапецеїдальним профілем.

There were two difficulties to which I need to find solution: firstly, it is a thin metal body, which cannot be machined from ebonite so that it remains as strong and solid build, and secondly, it is an inch pipe thread on the section. So, I need to understand how to cut an inch thread with a low trapezoidal profile using metric tools.

Щоб перепад між тонкою секцією та звичайним корпусом був не такий помітний/відчутний, я зробив проміжну сходинку яка наповзала на частину секції. До речі, хто має металевий Parker 75, той знає що корпус на секцію накручується із відчутним люфтом (бовтається), до поки вий його не закрутити до кінця і це сильно дратує, принаймні мене. Мій корпус накручується щільно без люфтів.

To make the transition between thin section and ordinary body less noticeable/tangible, I made an transitional step before thread which crawled on part of the section. By the way, anyone who has a original silver Parker 75 knows that the body is screwed onto the section with a noticeable backlash (hangs out) until you screw it at the end, and it’s very annoying, at least for me. My body is screwing tightly without any backlash.

Загальні розміри інструменту: повна довжина – 142 мм (версія без кліпу буде на 6-10 мм коротше), зі знятим ковпачком – 123,5 мм. Діаметр корпусу – 15 мм, у місці хвату – 8.6-8.9 мм (нагадаю що секція оригінальна від Parker 75). Вага – 23 г, а зі знятим ковпачком – 12.5 г. Вийшло так що вага майже така сама як у моделі parker 75 Cisele.

Overall dimensions of the tool: full length – 142 mm (the version without clip will be on 6-10 mm shorter), without cap – 123.5 mm. Body diameter – 15 mm, at the grip – 8.6-9.9 mm (I remind you that the section is original from Parker 75). Full weight is 23 g, and without cap – 12.5 g. It turned out that the weight is almost the same as the Parker 75 Cisele model.

Тест малюнком я поки не робив, хоча перо я вже тестував в попередньому огляді, а тут хіба що можна ергономіку оцінити при тривалому використанні.

I haven’t done test by drawing yet, although I already tested these nibs in a previous review, and here we can only evaluate the ergonomics with prolonged use.
