Hey community. Thanks to Andriy, I had the opportunity to review and test another modern Italian pen from fountain pen industry.

Stipula Model T Black w|T-Flex Titanium nib (made in Italy)

Форма ручки сигароподібна, але не з класичними заокругленими кінцями, а навпаки із загостреними. Матеріал: смола чорного кольору та метал. Система заправки картридно-конвертерна формату international, але сам виробник зазначає що закладав дизайн для використання як наливайка. Ковпачок на різьбленні, різьблення двозаходне, відкриття/закриття за 1.5 оберта.

The shape of this pen is cigar-shaped, but not with classic rounded ends, but rather with pointed ones. Material: black resin and metal. The filling system is cartridge-converter by International standard, but the manufacturer notes that it designed for eyedropper style also. Cap on thread, double-lead threads, opening/closing in 1.5 turns.

Із прикрас, ковпачок має об’ємний логотип виконаний із срібла, але люди із поганим зором будьте обережні, без окулярів це може здатись зайвою частиною із бажанням відшкрябати її. Саме так трапилось зі мною, але я вчасно зупинився::)). Також кліп прикрашений якоюсь перламутровою кулькою. Внутрішня поверхня ковпачка матова що говорить про механічну обробку, внутрішня частина корпусу виконана із металу що в поєднанні із пластиком дає деякий люфт у з’єднанні, але який нівелюється щільним гумовим кільцем.

From the decors, the cap has a voluminous logo made of sterling silver, but people with poor eyesight be careful, without glasses it may seem like an some dirty part with a desire to scrape it off. That’s exactly what happened to me, but I stopped in time::)). The clip is also decorated vy some kind of mother-of-pearl sphere. The inner surface of the cap is matte, which indicates mechanical processing, the inner part of the body is made of metal, which in combination with plastic gives some play in the connection, but which is leveled by a dense rubber O-ring.

Перо: сучасне титанове перо 6 розміру виробництва Bock. Пробачте, але не став його виймати за для фотографування. На перо нанесено візерунок із фірмових логотипів, назви бренду курсивом Stipula, та позначки матеріалу пера Titanio. Перо дійсно м’яке.

The nib: modern titanium nib by #6 size made by Bock. Sorry, but I didn’t take it out to take a picture. The nib is decorated by branded logo pattern, the brand name in cursive Stipula, and the Titanio as nib material. The nib is really soft.

Overall tool dimensions: folded length is – 147.8 mm, without cap – 132.7 mm. The diameter of the body is – 13.15 mm, at the grip – 10.4 mm. The weight of folded tool is – 23.5 g (empty w/o converter), without cap – 11,5 g .

Хвилинки історії:
Компанія була заснована у 1973 році Ренцо Сальвадорі у Флоренції. Ренцо був найнятий у невелику механічну майстерню, коли йому було 15, де він працював на токарному верстаті. З цього часу він навчився ремонтувати ручки. Це було ще у 1945 році після визволення Флоренції наприкінці Другої світової війни.
Компанія починала з виробництва золотих і срібних застібок тощо для деяких шкіряних компаній. А потім у 1977 році компанія почала зосереджуватися на виробництві настільних аксесуарів. У 1982 році Stipula почала виготовляти ручки власного бренду замість того, щоб виготовляти їх для інших компаній.
Торгова марка «Stipula» була введена у 1991 році. У 2005 році Etruria придбала бренд Stipula, але, незважаючи на цю зміну, компанія завжди залишалася сімейним бізнесом.
Виробництво власне завдяки точінню та фрезеруванню різних частин ручки, замість використання лиття під тиском і це особливість ручок Stipula. Обсяги виробництва складають від 50 до 100 ручок одночасно, але фінішне складання відбувається за фактичним замовленням.

Minutes of history:
The company was founded in 1973 by Renzo Salvadori, in Florence. Renzo was hired in a small mechanical workshop when he was 15 working with a lathe. From that he became skilled at fixing pens. That was back in 1945 following the liberation of Florence at the end of World War II.
The company started by making gold and silver clasps etc for high end leather companies. Then in 1977 it started to focus on making desk accessories. In 1982 that Stipula turned to making its own pens rather than making them for other pen companies.
The “Stipula” trade name was coined in 1991. In 2005, Etruria acquired the brand name Stipula, but despite this change, the company has always remained a family-owned business.
The production is actually done by turning and milling the various parts of the pens, instead of using cast molding, and this is a feature of Stipula pens. Production volumes range from 50 to 100 handles at a time, but final assembly is done according to the actual order.

Цікаво що більшість дизайнів Model T має різьблення із ковпачком у звичному місті “за секцією”(до речі там вона металева), але саме ця Model T має різьблення “перед секцією”, яке доволі тонке в перетину і мабуть крихке, тож це може бути початкова версія дизайну яку потім змінили.

It’s interesting that most actual Model T designs have a cap thread in the usual place “behind the section” (by the way, it’s metal there), but this particular Model T has a thread “in front of the section”, which is quite thin in cross-section and probably fragile, so this may be an earlier base version of the design that was later changed.

Товщина лінії прямою стороною становить 0,5 мм, натиск збільшує цю лінію до 0,9 мм. Зворотний бік пише з шириною 0,3 мм, але з меншою подачею.

Ordinary line width by right side is 0.5 mm; pressure increases this line up to 0.9 mm. The reverse side writes by width about 0.3 mm, but with less ink flow.

В решті: цікавий дизайн, якісне виконання, якісні матеріали, але є нюанси які можуть комусь сподобатись а комусь ні. По перше титанове перо дійсно м’яке(кому це подобається), але чи завдяки надмірній вологості, чи завдяки повільній (кволій) пружності  це перо не відчувається навіть напів-флексом. По друге спідниця(талія) перед пером(різьбленням) постійно нагадувала моїм пальцям про своє існування. По трете мені не сподобалась занадто щільне гумове кільце, що не дозволяло закручувати корпус до секції без зайвої щілини. По четверте: стандартний конвертер Schmidt K5 тримався у секції достатньо вільно, так він не випадав самотужки але легке торкання нього пальцями змушувало його від’єднуватись. Ну і на останок, саме головне, подача на цій ручці виявилось не стабільною, під час тесту у мене виникло кілька моментів коли подача спочатку просто припинялась, а потім  ставала занадто вологою.

At the end: interesting design, high-quality workmanship, high-quality materials, but there are some nuances that some may like, bit some may not. Firstly, the titanium nib is really soft (some like it) nib, but either due to overwet or due to slow (weak) springy, this nib does not feel even semi-flexible at all. Secondly, the skirt (waist) in front of the section ( after thread) constantly reminded my fingers of its existence. Thirdly, I did not like the too tight rubber O-ring, which did not allow me to screw the body to the section tightly without gap. Fourthly: the standard Schmidt K5 converter held in the section quite loosely, so it did not fall out on its own, but a light touch by my fingers made it disconnect. And finally, the most important thing, the feed/nib assembly on this pen turned out to be unstable, during the test I had several moments when the ink flow just stopped, and then became too overwet.

«Ідеальні дні» — драматичний фільм 2023 року, знятий Вімом Вендерсом. Спільне виробництво Японії та Німеччини. Фільм розповідає про життя чоловіка, на ім’я Хіраяма — прибиральника туалетів в Токіо. Премʼєра відбулася на Каннському кінофестивалі 2023, де актор Кодзі Якусьо отримав нагороду як найкращий актор, а стрічка виграла Приз Екуменічного журі. Фільм було номіновано на Оскар 2024 в категорії «Найкращий міжнародний художній фільм».

Perfect Days is a 2023 drama film directed by Wim Wenders from a script written by Wenders and Takuma Takasaki. A co-production between Japan and Germany, the film follows the routine life of Hirayama (Kōji Yakusho), a public toilet cleaner in Tokyo.
Perfect Days premiered on 23 May 2023 at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d’Or and won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the Best Actor Award for Kōji Yakusho. It was nominated for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards, becoming the first film directed by a non-Japanese filmmaker to be nominated as the Japanese entry.

Kōji Hashimoto (橋本 広司), known professionally as Kōji Yakusho (役所 広司), is a Japanese actor. He is known internationally for his starring roles in Shall We Dance? (1996), Cure (1997), 13 Assassins (2010), The Third Murder (2017), The Blood of Wolves (2018), Under the Open Sky (2020) and The Perfect Days (2023). For his performance in Perfect Days (2023), he was awarded the Best Actor award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

Хасімото Кодзі (橋本 広司), сценічне ім’я Кодзі Якусьо (役所 広司) — японський актор. Отримав Приз за найкращу чоловічу роль Каннського кінофестивалю 2023 за акторську роботу у фільмі «Ідеальні дні». Після закінчення Вищої технологічної школи префектури Нагасакі в 1974 році працював в муніціпальному офісі токійського району Чіода, або куякусьо, від якого згодом отримав своє сценічне ім’я.
